‘The Bear’ Serves Up Fresh Helpings of Culinary Pandemonium in Season 3 Trailer

The critically-acclaimed FX/Hulu series returns June 27 with more mouthwatering food and dysfunctional kitchen chaos.

FX and Hulu’s award-winning kitchen pressure-cooker The Bear is reopening for business, and the first trailer for Season 3 promises a heaping portion of the show’s signature chaotic energy. Premiering June 27, the upcoming eight-episode season finds Jeremy Allen White’s Carmy, along with Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), finally getting their revamped restaurant off the ground amid the show’s ever-present maelstrom of shouting, stress and culinary insanity.

While last season chronicled the crew stripping their once-dingy sandwich shop down to the studs for an ambitious overhaul, the new footage makes clear their newly hatched vision remains plagued by the same dysfunctional pandemonium that makes The Bear such a singularly intense viewing experience.

In just 30 seconds, the trailer packs in glimpses of food flying, pans clattering, orders being furiously shouted and cursing galore as the team operates at their frenzied peak behind the line. “This is a dysfunctional kitchen!” Sydney exasperatedly declares, to which Carmy and Richie jointly deadpan: “Show me a functional one.”

Amidst the beautiful close-ups of searing steaks and other mouthwatering fare, the sneak peek also hints at burgeoning tensions and power struggles as the newly reformed restaurant’s lofty ambitions clash with the no-holds-barred realities of trying to execute culinary excellence on a nightly basis.

Since premiering in 2022, The Bear has rapidly emerged as one of television’s most electrifying and critically-lauded shows. Its first season garnered seven Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, with White taking home the Outstanding Lead Actor trophy.

Created by Christopher Storer and inspired by his own experiences working in the high-pressure Chicago restaurant world, the series has enthralled viewers with its unflinching, near-cinematic portrayal of the restaurant industry’s relentless grind and toxic culture. However, the show’s emotional core remains Carmy’s poignant journey to heal from past trauma by pursuing his culinary passion while navigating complex family bonds.

In addition to White, Edebiri and Moss-Bachrach, Season 3 will feature returning cast members including Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, as well as high-profile guests like Jamie Lee Curtis.

With critics already hailing its second season as an exceptional feat of escalating dramatic tension, all eyes will be on The Bear to see if it can raise the stakes even further amid the make-or-break opening of Carmy’s new vision. If this trailer is any indication, viewers should prepare for another whirlwind descent into the trenches of culinary sacrifice and adversity like only this series can deliver.
