Mia Goth has been added to the cast of Christopher Nolan’s latest film, The Odyssey. The film, which adapts Homer’s ancient epic, will bring the legendary tale of Odysseus to life using state-of-the-art IMAX film technology and is set for a July 17, 2026 release.
Goth joins a roster of well-known actors that includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, and John Leguizamo. Universal, the film’s distributor, described the project as a mythic action feature that presents Homer’s narrative for the first time on IMAX screens.
Christopher Nolan, who writes, directs, and produces the film, leads the production alongside his wife, Emma Thomas, under their Syncopy banner. Production is scheduled to begin in the spring, with parts of the film shot in Sicily.
Filming will take place on the island of Favignana—locally known as “goat island”—which is believed to be where Odysseus and his crew might have landed according to Homer’s account.
Goth, whose representation includes WME and Curtis Brown, has built her reputation with notable roles in films such as A Cure for Wellness, Suspiria, Infinity Pool, and the X series. She is also set to lead in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein and has a role in Marvel’s forthcoming Blade movie.
