Erin Foster may step in front of the camera for season 3 of Nobody Wants This, the Netflix series she created and co-produces with her sister Sara Foster.
Speaking at the 2025 Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala, Erin said the idea of appearing on the show has come up before but hasn’t moved forward. “I always thought that it’d be fun to do that, but I never created a character that I thought was the perfect character,” she told People.
Sara, who serves as an executive producer on the series, chimed in with a suggestion. “[Sisters] Morgan [Justine Lupe] and Joanne [Kristen Bell] go on sabbatical and then it’s us.” Erin responded, “Oh, we just replace them.”
The half-hour comedy is loosely based on Erin’s relationship with her husband, Simon Tikhman. It follows the fictional pairing of rabbi Noah (Adam Brody) and sex podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell), as they navigate mismatched belief systems and family expectations. Erin converted to Judaism before marrying Tikhman in 2019.
The show was renewed for a second season in October 2024. At the time, executive producer Jenni Konner said, “It’s a dream to be working on Nobody Wants This. Erin is the rare creator with a crystal clear voice and a genuinely collaborative spirit.” Konner also highlighted the involvement of writers Bruce Kaplan and Sarah Heyward, both of whom previously worked on Girls.
No premiere date for season 2 has been announced.
