Country singer Morgan Wade has joined the cast of Dutton Ranch, Paramount+’s forthcoming Yellowstone spinoff, taking a recurring role as Carol, a bartender at the local watering hole in the fictional Texas town of Rio Paloma who, per the show’s description, “sees all.” The series premieres May 15.
Wade, who has toured with Chris Stapleton, Zach Bryan, Luke Combs, and Alanis Morissette, steps into a role that slots neatly into the Sheridan universe’s long tradition of integrating country and Americana musicians into its casts. Ryan Bingham, Lainey Wilson, Zach Bryan, Riley Green, Ashley Cooke, Jackson Dean, and Chris Stapleton have all appeared across various Yellowstone universe shows. The bartender archetype itself is a recurring fixture — Tulsa King, Landman, and Marshals have each featured prominent barkeeps as information brokers and community anchors.
Wade is best known for “Wilder Days,” which has surpassed 120 million streams on Spotify, and has been candid about her nine years of sobriety — making her casting as a bartender a detail that has not gone unnoticed by fans. She has released four albums, beginning with her 2021 debut Reckless, which charted on Billboard and earned a Rolling Stone designation as the year’s Best Americana Album, followed by Psychopath, Obsessed, and most recently The Party Is Over (recovered).
Dutton Ranch picks up with Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler as they leave Yellowstone for Texas, where they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch. Finn Little, who played Carter on the flagship series, also returns. The nine-episode season also stars Oscar nominees Ed Harris and Annette Bening, lending the spinoff a significantly elevated dramatic profile compared to its predecessors.
The series was created by Chad Feehan, based on characters created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, with Feehan serving as showrunner. Emmy winner Christina Alexandra Voros directed the pilot and season finale. The Yellowstone franchise has maintained its commercial dominance — Marshals debuted as CBS’s most-watched scripted series launch ever in early March 2026.
Wade is repped by Paradigm, 10th Street Entertainment, and LaPolt Law.
