Barry Keoghan has begun a skin-tightening treatment for his face, months after he described the online abuse over his looks as a growing problem. In a video posted Oct. 23 by Dermaspa owner Nilam Holmes, the 34-year-old “Saltburn” star lies on a treatment table as she works on his cheeks, nose and jawline. It was his second session of XERF, a non-invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency technology to tighten skin and stimulate collagen production, with no needles or numbing cream. The clip shows a cosmetic skin treatment, not surgery.
Keoghan spoke warmly about the experience. He called the sessions relaxing and therapeutic and said it is important to look after yourself inside and out. “I feel better about myself,” he says in the video. Holmes wrote that she has cared for his skin across several films and campaigns, and that it “has really improved” in recent years.
The treatment carries a price. Two rounds start around £4,500, or about $5,300. A session takes roughly 90 minutes, and the clinic says results last 12 to 18 months. Kim Kardashian and Priyanka Chopra are among its reported fans. A physician explained that the method works beneath the skin to boost collagen and elastin, producing firmer-looking skin over time.
The video lands after Keoghan spoke openly about abuse he faces. “There’s a lot of hate online,” he told SiriusXM’s “The Morning Mash Up” in March. He said the abuse made him withdraw and avoid going out. He deactivated his Instagram account in 2024. He has also described harassment offline, including strangers knocking on his grandmother’s door.
Social media reacted quickly, and not kindly. Some users mocked the post, with one telling him to work on the inside first. The response illustrates the pressure he described. It also feeds a wider debate. Commentators argue that men now face the appearance pressure women have faced for decades, and that cosmetic fixes can turn into a cycle where nothing feels like enough. Keoghan has not addressed the mockery. His representatives have not commented on the treatment beyond what he said on camera.
