Konami has answered the relentless demands of fans by bringing back the Silent Hill series, with not one, but as many as four new video games to be released in the future.
While the Japanese studio had taken a break from Triple A games after the flop of Metal Gear Survive, it has returned to the field after a few years of hiatus by setting big goals and announcing plans to bring back other series besides the Silent Hill series.
Noriaki Okamura, Konami staff member and producer of the Metal Gear series, talked about this at the microphones of Famitsu, declaring that “2023 will be a year full of announcements.”
“Highly anticipated. That will be the key word for the new year,” Okamura stated during the interview, “In addition to the already announced Momotaro Dentetsu, 2023 will be a year full of announcements, so please keep following us.”

When the Metal Gear series producer utters the words “highly anticipated,” the fans cannot help but think of the return of Solid Snake and co. now in the air for more than a year.
In the last period several rumors have popped up concerning a possible remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, and a return of the first three chapters with remasters, and by the looks of it 2023 could indeed be the year of the big announcement.
Metal Gear series is considered by many to be one of the cornerstones of the stealth genre, and it has been praised by generations of gamers because of its incredible narrative and constant evolutions in terms of gameplay.
After author Hideo Kojima left, then Konami released the under-appreciated Metal Gear Survive, and later put the franchise on hiatus.
Konami has been very interested in remakes lately, so it’s possible that the series could return in 2023 or later with remakes for PC and next-gen consoles.
