The Star Wars Celebration 2023 event has brought some exciting news for fans of the legendary sci-fi franchise. With the announcement of new movies and TV shows, the Ahsoka series for Disney Plus has been in the spotlight.
The series features Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi who made appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The first trailer for Ahsoka revealed Dawson in action once again, and we also learned who will be directing the episodes.

During an interview with Collider, Ray Stevenson, who plays Baylon in the series, disclosed that there will be eight episodes in total. When asked about his favorite episode, he mentioned that he couldn’t choose just one, as his favorite was between episodes one and eight. This confirmation of the number of episodes has undoubtedly delighted fans of the show.
The series’ co-creator, Dave Filoni, answered the other big question about the Ahsoka series – the expected duration of each episode.
According to Filoni, the episodes would be similar in length to those of The Mandalorian, “perhaps on average a little more.” However, he also added that establishing a precise duration was challenging.
Filoni is known for his storytelling skills, and he also believes in providing an engaging experience for the audience. He said, “I like a long episode as much as anyone, as long as it’s moving.” Therefore, we can expect episodes that will hold our attention and take us on a thrilling ride.
As per the latest update, Ahsoka will premiere on Disney Plus in August 2023. Each of the eight episodes will last more than half an hour and less than an hour, similar to the episodes of The Mandalorian.
