Tom Cruise has achieved a remarkable milestone with his latest film, Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One, as it becomes his highest-rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes.

This latest installment in the Mission Impossible franchise has soared to an impressive 98% rating based on 112 reviews from critics, surpassing Cruise’s previous top-rated film, Mission Impossible: Fallout, which held a 97% score.

Notably, Cruise has delivered several highly regarded movies throughout his career, including Top Gun: Maverick, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Critical Acclaim for Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One

The film has garnered positive reviews from reputable sources. Total Film, awarding it four stars, hails the franchise’s relentless spirit, stating, “This franchise is never happy to cruise – and M:I 7 goes all-out. It judders at times, but when it delivers, it delivers big time.”

Similarly, the Telegraph grants the movie a five-star rating, describing it as “stunningly executed.” The Independent also gives it a solid four stars, labeling it a “muscular, extravagant, thoroughly old-school work of ingenuity and craft.”

However, as with any film, not all reviews were unanimously positive. The Times awards the movie two out of five stars, criticizing its assembly and comparing it to a haphazard creation by an inattentive monkey or a studio intern handed incomplete footage. Despite this dissenting opinion, the majority of critics have praised the film for its thrilling action and high production values.
