The return of SNK’s iconic Fatal Fury series after a 26-year hiatus continues building hype with the latest trailer for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The new footage shines a spotlight on Marco Rodrigues, a hot-blooded Kyokugen karate master joining the game’s roster of eccentric fighters.

The trailer depicts Marco ruthlessly pummeling the Jaguar warrior Tizoc, who was previously revealed as another playable character. Marco’s introduction describes him as a “beast in battle” renowned for his hefty karate strikes and ferocious spirit.

According to his backstory, Marco has been training at Yuri Sakazaki’s fitness club after his own dojo’s sign was stolen. With a new King of Fighters tournament on the horizon, he sees an opportunity to spread word of his beloved Kyokugen style while hopefully recovering the stolen sign.

Marco’s addition continues fleshing out the Fatal Fury cast, which so far officially includes returning icons like Terry Bogard, Rock Howard, and Hotaru Futaba alongside newcomers like Tizoc and Preecha. The trailer also offers a glimpse of the Yuri Fitness Club setting, heavily hinting that fan-favorite brawler Yuri Sakazaki herself will likely make the roster as well.

While light on gameplay details, the footage captures the series’ signature over-the-top fighting spirit and bristling energy. Marco’s moves showcase powerful grappling combinations and furious flurries of blows characteristic of the Kyokugen style.

After over two decades away, Fatal Fury’s long-awaited revival seems determined to recapture the excess and electrifying action that made the original games wildly popular in the 90s. With an English voice track also confirmed, City of the Wolves is shaping up as an authentic but accessible return to the beloved SNK franchise.
