Rap mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs is facing another civil lawsuit, adding to his legal troubles. Houston attorney Tony Buzbee filed a complaint on behalf of an anonymous plaintiff alleging incidents involving a minor in 2005. This comes as Combs awaits trial on federal charges at a Brooklyn detention center in May 2025.
The new lawsuit claims unspecified events occurred with a minor in 2005. Combs’ legal team denies all allegations, saying their client “never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone.” However, Buzbee’s office has received over 100 calls on a tip hotline regarding potential victims since last November.
Combs is currently detained after his September arrest in New York City. He faces federal charges including racketeering and sex trafficking. If convicted, the 54-year-old Bad Boy Records founder faces life in prison. Two attempts to be released on $50 million bail have been rejected so far.
Combs’ legal issues started increasing in November 2023 after a suit by former girlfriend Cassie Ventura. More civil lawsuits have since emerged, also involving alleged incidents with minors in 1998 and 2000. This new lawsuit represents continued legal challenges for the music executive ahead of his May trial date.
The federal case also attracted attention after authorities raided the detention center on Monday in an “interagency operation.” The investigation is ongoing amid tensions between officials over purported information leaks. A judge has issued a gag order limiting case discussions to avoid influencing the trial.
