There is a promotion on Steam that will allow you to get the full version of Republique, the stealth game by Camouflaj studio, for free. Likewise, you can also get Republique VR, a special edition of this game tailored for virtual reality devices, without paying.
It is not known whether the offer is limited in time, and so we advise those interested to hurry, just in case. As is common with this type of campaign, if you add the game to your Steam library during it, it will remain there forever, even if the promotion ends.
This free offer was made to celebrate the 10th birthday of Camouflaj studio. Founded in 2010, the team was created by industry veterans who previously worked on such productions as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, F.E.A.R. and Halo 4.
Initial funding for Republique was raised in 2010 on Kickstater, where gamers supported the developers with $555,000.
The game was originally released in an episodic model (the free version available on Steam includes all episodes) on iOS, but with time the production was also transferred to PC and consoles. Two years ago, a Google Stadia version was also released.
Republique’s PC version was warmly received – on Steam, 76% of player reviews are positive, something that Steam categorizes as a “mostly positive” reception of the game.
