We learned new details about the highly anticipated movie “Beverly Hills Cop 4.” Netflix has invested in the next well-known IP and with the help of Eddie Murphy, amongst others, it wants to provide fans with an entertaining story. We have just learned new information about the project.
“Beverly Hills Cop 4” has been officially titled “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley” and Mark Molloy has been named director of the production – previously the filmmaker worked on short projects and developed commercials for Apple, among others.
While Eddie Murphy will play the main character, the actor will also handle production – with Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman also serving as producers. Wil Beall (“Aquaman,” “Gangster Squad: Mafia Slayers,” “Castle”) has written the script.
Taylour Paige (“Zola,” “Cocaine Rick,” “Ma Rainey: Mother of the Blues”) as well as Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“The Trial of the Chicago Seven,” “Inception,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “500 Days of Love,” “Bad Touch”) are also part of the cast.
While Netflix already took over the brand in winter 2019, they took a very long time to find the right people to handle the production.
