Online streaming service Netflix showed the first images from the first “Bridgertons” prequel. Check out how India Amarteifio, known from the “Sex Education” series, appears in the role of the younger Queen Charlotte.
A picture has also emerged showing the young Lady Danbury, who is played by Arsema Thomas. This prequel will tell the story of young Charlotte, the character who was created specifically for the series and was not featured in Julia Quinn’s novels, which the series’ creators drew inspiration from.
In the first season she was played by Golda Rosheuvel, which will also score a guest appearance in the new production.
The other actresses from the “Bridgertons” due to reprise their performances for the new story will be Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell (as Lady Agatha Danbury and Lady Violet Bridgerton).
Also in the cast of the series are Michelle Fairley as Princess Augusta, Corey Mylchreest as young King George and Arsema Thomas as young Agatha Danbury.
Set in the Bridgerton universe, the prequel tells the story of Queen Charlotte’s life and her path to power, and her marriage to King George, which set in motion a beautiful love story and social changes.
The result of these changes was the rise of the social world of the Regency, where the characters of the “Bridgertons” brimmed.
Shonda Rhimes is responsible for the series as writer and producer. The producers are also Betsy Beers and Tom Verica.
We should add that the described prequel is only the first of many Netflix projects, connected to the world of “Bridgertons.”
