The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is renowned for its intricate web of interconnected stories that span both time and space.

While each installment offers insights into the plot from varying angles, the timeline has become increasingly complex following Thanos’ snap, which occurs between Infinity War and Endgame.

After wrapping up the Infinity Saga, Marvel Studios introduced Disney+ series as part of Phase 4, including Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The series picks up after Captain America’s retirement, with Falcon assuming the mantle and partnering with the Winter Soldier. However, the show’s timeline has caused some confusion, which Marvel has now clarified.

Addressing Timeline Issues in Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The MCU timeline has been a topic of confusion and speculation for years, with some of Marvel Studios’ creative team even admitting uncertainty about where their projects fit into the grand scheme of the expanding universe.

One issue with Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s timeline is the assumption that the story takes place in 2023, the same year as the Endgame event and shortly after the war with Thanos.

Following Steve Rogers’ retirement, Sam Wilson inherits Captain America’s shield and forms a close partnership with Bucky Barnes.

However, the events of Falcon and the Winter Soldier actually take place a year later, as confirmed by Marvel’s new guide outlining the entire MCU chronology.

“Step into the ring with Duffy as he battles his past and present in our Lights Out review. Experience a tale of redemption where underground fighting meets the quest for inner peace.”

Clarifying the Timeline for Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Marvel fans can finally resolve timeline confusion with the forthcoming official guide from Marvel Studios, aptly titled “The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline.”

The guide details the history of Captain America’s shield and confirms that Sam Wilson donated the iconic weapon to the Smithsonian Institution in 2024, placing the first episode, “A New World Order,” of Falcon and the Winter Soldier in that year, rather than in 2023.

The 320-page guide, authored by Anthony Breznican, Amy Ratcliffe, and Rebecca Theodore-Vachon, promises to be the definitive source of information for fans wanting to follow the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s story from inception to present day.

Additionally, the guide contains further details about major events, characters, and objects introduced throughout the films and series.

Furthermore, the guide also offers insights into the next phase of the MCU, including projects such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Captain Marvel 2, and Ant-Man.

Providing an exhaustive behind-the-scenes timeline of the MCU’s creation, this guide is sure to be an invaluable resource for fans eager to delve deeper into the superhero world that has captivated audiences worldwide. “The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline” is set to be available in September 2023.
