Nintendo Switch users, rejoice! Two iconic Zelda classics have made their triumphant arrival on the Switch Online subscription service. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages are now available for all Zelda fans to relish, starting from July 27, offering a double dose of nostalgic adventures and timeless gameplay.

Earlier this year, the Switch’s Game Boy library was somewhat lacking. However, with the inclusion of the beloved 2001 companion games, the library has truly come to life. Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages capture the essence of classic top-down Zelda gameplay, infusing it with ingenious mechanics that lead to exceptional puzzles and captivating pixel art visuals.

Seasons and Ages, Timeless Adventures

In Oracle of Seasons, players wield the mighty Rod of Seasons, which grants the power to manipulate the time of year. On the other hand, Oracle of Ages equips Link with the enchanting Harp of Ages, enabling him to traverse through time.

Both games introduce dynamic changes to the world, with Ages emphasizing intricate puzzles. Notably, completing one game rewards players with a secret code to unlock altered gameplay and storyline in the other. This thrilling interplay culminates in the ultimate challenge of facing a final secret boss.

An Enchanting World to Explore

Beyond their innovative gameplay mechanics, what makes Oracle of Seasons and Ages truly remarkable are their captivating overworlds. Bursting with monsters to conquer, items to collect, and secrets to uncover, these classics deliver an enthralling and rewarding exploration experience.

Both games arrived shortly after Ocarina of Time and marked the pinnacle of the series’ classic 2D structure, where players navigated through a richly detailed map and conquered individually themed dungeons – elements that continue to resonate with fans who cherish the charm of classic Zeldas like Tears of the Kingdom.
