Exciting news for Assassin’s Creed enthusiasts! A window into the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Red might be on the horizon through a fresh tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG).

As Access the Animus reported on Twitter recently, Ubisoft is set to unveil an all-new Assassin’s Creed TTRPG. While the core content of the tabletop game might not primarily center on Japan, a “test story” is set to unfold in Feudal Japan around the year 1558. This intriguing narrative might provide a tantalizing glimpse into the world that awaits in Assassin’s Creed Red.

Assassin’s Creed Red, introduced in an announcement last year, is part of Ubisoft’s ongoing expansion of the iconic series. The long-standing desire among fans for a game set in Feudal Japan is poised to be fulfilled, even though the release of Red isn’t slated before 2024. Nevertheless, the prospect is incredibly promising for dedicated followers of the franchise.

The tabletop RPG adventure set in Feudal Japan could potentially offer an “example of gameplay” associated with Assassin’s Creed Red. If the provided information holds true, the TTRPG experience might shed light on whether Red leans more towards stealth-oriented gameplay, akin to the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage, or if it ventures into the RPG realm like the expansive Valhalla.

Within the TTRPG storyline, we’ll be crossing paths with Chiyome Mochizuki. Interestingly, this character initially appeared as a Templar in Assassin’s Creed Memories. However, the TTRPG has cast Mochizuki as an Assassin, hinting at some intriguing narrative twists and turns.

Mark your calendars for September 5, when the Assassin’s Creed TTRPG is set to launch its Kickstarter campaign. Although it offers a sneak peek into Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed Red, the development of this venture is not solely bankrolled by the global developer/publisher.

Other Adventures Await

While the world anticipates Assassin’s Creed Red, another journey beckons in the form of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Slated to release on October 5, the game transports players to Baghdad, allowing them to step into the shoes of veteran Assassin Basim during the early stages of his journey.

Assassin’s Creed Red’s development reportedly played a role in the cancellation of Immortals Fenyx Rising 2, as Ubisoft dedicated its resources to fully embrace its historical franchise. The future of Assassin’s Creed holds numerous possibilities, each contributing to the rich tapestry of the series.
