In recent months, Xbox Game Pass has been hitting all the right notes. September marked a high point for the service, with the introduction of new titles such as Starfield, Lies of P, Cocoon, and beloved classics like Gris, Spiritfarer, Solar Ash, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. Although October had a tough act to follow, it still promises an impressive selection of games.
The month began with a bang, offering subscribers Forza Motorsport and Warhammer 40K: Darktide. Xbox’s latest announcement revealed a wealth of upcoming titles for the rest of October, including the long-awaited Dead Space Remake, scheduled for release on October 26, just in time for Halloween.
A must-play for fans of the original, this remake brings the horror classic up to 2023 standards. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience both the original trilogy and the remake, as all three Dead Space titles are already available on Game Pass through EA Play.
But that’s not all – Xbox Game Pass is treating gamers to a series of day-one releases in the latter half of the month. On October 19, F1 Manager 2023 hits the service, followed by Cities: Skylines 2 on October 24 (a PC exclusive).
Halloween enthusiasts can look forward to Headbangers: Rhythm Royale, a pigeon-themed rhythm-based battle royale, and Jusant, a tranquil rock climbing game, both set for October 31. Adding to the excitement, Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery, a collection featuring all three Frog Detective games, promises light-hearted mystery adventures that are sure to bring a smile.
October also saw the early addition of Gotham Knights and The Lamplighters League to Game Pass. While Gotham Knights might not appeal to everyone, DC fans are sure to find enjoyment. On the other hand, The Lamplighters League, a tactical game that launched at the end of September, offers a fresh and intriguing experience.
However, October will also bring some disappointment, as five games are set to leave Game Pass on October 31. Among them are two fan favorites: Persona 5 Royal and Signalis. Persona 5 Royal, a massive RPG, has been a Game Pass staple since its launch last year, and its departure leaves a void for those who have yet to complete it.
Signalis, a bite-sized horror game reminiscent of classic titles like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, is a standout choice for horror and sci-fi enthusiasts. The other three titles departing are Gunfire Reborn, Kill It With Fire, and Solasta Crown of the Magister.
Summing it all up, September and October have been remarkable months for Xbox Game Pass, offering a plethora of outstanding titles. While the service has seen both great hits and misses, it has undeniably delivered more than its fair share of gaming delights.
As the month draws to a close, gamers can anticipate November’s offerings, which include Thirsty Suitors, Football Manager 2024, and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name in the first half of the month, along with Persona 5 Tactica in the second half.
Even if November’s lineup seems more modest, the bar has been set high by the extraordinary gaming experiences of September and October, and the imminent arrival of Persona 5 Tactica promises to keep gamers thoroughly occupied.
