This limited-time celebration infuses the game with a holiday spirit, offering players themed activities, maps, and unique challenges across its various modes, including Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone 2.
The centerpiece of the CODMAS event is the Santa’s Slayground in-game event. It spans across ‘Modern Warfare 3’ and ‘Warzone 2’, featuring eight specially crafted challenges. Players who complete these challenges can unlock a range of festive rewards, including the “Christmas Skulls” Calling Card, the “Elfsecution” Finishing Move, and exclusive Weapon Blueprints and Operator Skins.
Two popular multiplayer maps, Shipment and Highrise, receive a seasonal makeover for the event. Shipment transforms into Shipmas, a wintry wonderland amidst a snowstorm on a frozen sea. Highrise turns into Hangover, a New Year’s celebration replete with festive decorations, snowmen, and a dance floor, encapsulating the spirit of the season.
Engaging in Festive Combat
Adding to the holiday spirit, the Infectious Holiday game mode introduces a unique twist where players become Santa Claus Operators in a match of Infected, with those infected turning into Zombie Santas. In another mode, Snowfight, players start with a snowball fight before progressing to regular loadouts, keeping snowballs as an extra element.
The Zombies mode isn’t left behind in the holiday celebrations. It features new seasonal enemy models, including Mega Abominations donning Santa hats, and updated infiltration music. The mode also introduces its own version of deadly snowballs, adding a festive yet dangerous twist to the gameplay.
Warzone 2’s Special Holiday Modes
Warzone 2 contributes to the holiday excitement with the Slay Ride Resurgence Playlist, featuring two distinct game modes. In Slay Ride, players embark on a unique mission aboard a train in Urzikstan, battling against Santa and his minions for special rewards and loot. The second mode, Slay Ride Resurgence, revolves around six tree-themed capture points, where players can decorate trees for improved in-game gear.
