Insomniac Games has outlined a robust content update coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on March 7th. Headlining the version 1.002 patch is the eagerly anticipated New Game Plus mode alongside new suits, accessibility features, and more.
Fans have long clamored for New Game Plus, allowing progression and unlocks to carry over into a new playthrough. Insomniac is delivering with enhanced difficulty, Ultimate combat levels, and exclusive Golden Gadget weapon skins to chase in subsequent runs.
Two major accessibility upgrades are also being introduced – Audio Descriptions and Screen Reader support. These allow the game experience to be customized for visually or hearing impaired players through descriptive narration and text-to-speech conversion.
Four new suits are coming courtesy of the 1.002 update and a separate charity DLC pack. Spider-Man and Miles Morales will receive their stylish Hellfire Gala outfits alongside original designs created in collaboration with the non-profit Gameheads organization.
The $5 Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack will contribute all proceeds up to $1 million to further Gameheads’ mission of engaging underprivileged youth. Along with the new threads, it includes stickers and frames.
With new modes, inclusivity upgrades, and sharp duds, the 1.002 update shows Insomniac’s continued support for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. As one of the most decorated games of 2022, it’s fantastic to see substantive expansions setting up an even brighter future in New York’s spider-filled skies.
