Pocketpair’s provocative open-world adventure Palworld continues pushing boundaries with its latest update. Version 0.2.0.6 not only introduces the game’s inaugural raid boss but also delves deeper into capitalistic satire by allowing players to forcibly return their Pal workforce to the grind.

The headliner is undoubtedly Bellanoir, Palworld’s first raid boss encounter. This formidable goth opponent can be summoned at new Summoning Altar structures, with an “extreme” variant available for brave tamers seeking an unprecedented challenge. Defeating Bellanoir yields a chance at coveted Pal Egg drops, though she cannot be personally captured.

However, the update’s most delightfully insidious addition lets players quite literally throw their hard-working Pals back into factories and job sites when their stamina is depleted. By physically picking up and lobbing fatigued Pals towards workstations, ruthless overseers can prematurely terminate break periods in exchange for increased productivity.

For those more interested in supporting than oppressing their Pal companions, new training manuals allow boosting experience and stat points. Ability Glasses let users inspect a Pal’s capabilities, while the Mercy Hit passive prevents outright killing potential captures. Numerous crafting and quality-of-life improvements like chest filtering are also included.

Beyond Bellanoir and labor violations, the patch unveils fresh characters gear like the all-climate Undershirt, new base buildings like the Ore Mining Site, and a handful of handy traversal tools. Pocketpair is already teasing a “larger, more content-packed update” for summer 2024 featuring a new island realm, additional Pals, structures, and tower bosses.

With each update, Palworld continues solidifying its divisive reputation as an audacious satire unafraid to depict questionable protagonists and pit players against menacing gothic entities. For those seeking an open-world power trip evoking equal parts wonder and discomfort, the latest patch ensures there’s plenty more pal-exploiting mayhem ahead.
