In a clever and tantalizing move, Kunos Simulazioni, the Italian developer behind the acclaimed Assetto Corsa racing simulation series, has dropped a series of breadcrumbs that point to a rebranding of the highly anticipated sequel. Through an ingenious Easter egg hidden within the latest update for Assetto Corsa Competizione, the studio has unveiled the new moniker for the next installment: “Assetto Corsa Evo.”

The revelation came in the form of a dynamic display on the famous Nürburgring 24h track, introduced in the recent DLC pack for ACC. Amidst the intense on-track action, eagle-eyed observers noticed a large, black sign flashing the year “2024” – the previously announced release window for Assetto Corsa 2. However, at certain intervals, the sign displayed a QR code that, when scanned, led to an interstitial page on the Assetto Corsa website.

There, a teaser video greeted visitors with the “Assetto Corsa Evo” title and the tantalizing tagline “Driving Simulation Evolved.” While the page itself provided limited additional information, it served as a clear indication that the highly anticipated sequel would be undergoing a rebranding, embracing the “Evo” moniker to signify its evolutionary leap forward in the realm of sim racing.

Assetto Corsa Evo

The choice of the word “Evo,” derived from the Italian term “Evoluzione,” is a fitting one for a series renowned for its pursuit of realism and authenticity in driving simulations. By adopting this new name, Kunos Simulazioni is sending a clear message that Assetto Corsa Evo will represent an evolution of the driving experience, promising to push the boundaries of what is possible in the genre.

While details remain scarce, the teaser video and the accompanying website hint at the developer’s commitment to taking the sim racing experience to new heights. With the utilization of an all-new in-house engine, Assetto Corsa Evo is poised to deliver a level of immersion and realism that will captivate both longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Assetto Corsa Evo

As the anticipation builds for this highly anticipated release, Kunos Simulazioni’s clever Easter egg has not only piqued the interest of the sim racing community but also demonstrated the developer’s ability to engage and intrigue its audience. By weaving the reveal into an existing game update, the studio has showcased its ingenuity and dedication to creating a buzz around its forthcoming title.

With the release of Assetto Corsa Evo slated for 2024, sim racers the world over can look forward to an evolved driving experience that promises to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of virtual motorsports. As the countdown to its launch begins, the gaming community eagerly awaits further details and revelations from Kunos Simulazioni, eager to witness the next stage in the evolution of one of the most revered sim racing franchises.
