In the ever-expanding world of SEGA’s hit Apple Arcade exclusive Sonic Dream Team, the iconic blue blur and his friends have just received their second major content update – and it’s a dream come true for fans.
The update, which went live earlier this week, introduces the serene Sweet Dreams Zone, a brand-new environment crafted by the mysterious “Dream Weaver” Ariem. This cozy new area challenges players to navigate its stages and secure coveted Dream Moons, all while grooving to fresh musical beats.
“The Sweet Dreams Zone really captures a sense of tranquility and wonder that’s a nice contrast to the high-octane action of the main game,” said Sonic Dream Team director, Takashi Iizuka. “We wanted to give players a chance to slow down and savor the dreamlike atmosphere, while still delivering the kind of platforming challenges that Sonic fans have come to expect.”
In addition to the new zone, the update also brings a host of other enhancements to Sonic Dream Team. Chief among them are the introduction of ranked badges, which will allow speedrunning enthusiasts to compete for the fastest clear times on each level. “We know our audience loves to push their skills to the limit,” Iizuka explained, “so being able to chase those coveted S-ranks and climb the leaderboards is sure to keep them coming back.”
The update also expands the game’s traversal options, with the addition of new gameplay “toys” like ziplines, swings, and screw poles. These novel mechanics promise to add an extra layer of challenge and fluidity to the platforming experience.
Rounding out the content drop are a slate of new achievements and collectible statues, giving Sonic fans even more reasons to dive back into the vibrant, dreamlike world of Sonic Dream Team.
