In the upcoming fourth season of Netflix’s popular period drama, Viscount Anthony Bridgerton will be played again by actor Jonathan Bailey, who announced this Thursday on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
Bailey, who is 36 years old, said that work will start next week and he will be “reuniting with the family.” He won’t be the lead this season, but he hopes to make a few appearances and is excited about the new cast members.
The next season will mostly focus on Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson. Benedict is the family’s second son and an artist. The show’s official description says that Benedict is still on the fence about getting married until he has a strange experience at a costume ball that changes his mind.
Julie Quinn’s third best-selling series, “An Offer from a Gentleman,” will be turned into a season. Bailey spoke highly of the new cast member Yerin Ha, saying, “Luke and Yerin are gonna be great.”
“Bridgerton” continues to use new storytelling techniques by switching up the main characters every season. This plan lets the show examine the love stories of different family members while maintaining the story’s flow.
Fans should get ready for a long wait. At the recent London premiere of the second part of season three, showrunner Brownell said that fans might have to wait about two years before the next season streams.
Bailey’s news came while he was on a press tour for the movie version of “Wicked.” He plays Fiyero in the movie, which also stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. The actor is still excited about both projects and has said that working on “Bridgerton” was “an amazing thing to be a part of.”
