This year, Netflix’s smash series “Wednesday” will make a spectacular cameo in the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, adding a touch of gothic humor. The show’s float will feature the famed Wednesday Addams character, giving a ghoulish take on the holiday season.
The parade float will highlight the show’s particular style, with performers dressed as the major characters and a musical performance by indie-pop musician Bishop Briggs. In classic Wednesday Addams style, the float will push the boundaries of parade entertainment, including a darkly humorous sequence of Wednesday delivering her brother Pugsley’s head on a silver platter.
The parade participation comes at a critical juncture for the series. “Wednesday” has become Netflix’s most popular English-language TV show, with an incredible 252 million views in 91 days. The Tim Burton-directed series has captivated audiences worldwide and is fueling anticipation for its second season, premiere in 2025, and featuring pop singer Lady Gaga in a prominent role.
Fans of the program, led by star Jenna Ortega, will receive a special sneak peek during the parade coverage. Ironically, the character Wednesday would most likely dislike such a cheerful occasion, especially given her background as a worker at a fictional Pilgrim World tourist attraction.
The parade will be broadcast live on NBC and streamed on Peacock from 8:30 a.m. to noon ET, allowing viewers to see the Addams Family’s most sarcastic member come to life amid the customary holiday festivities.
The float, part of an excellent lineup of celebrity performers and character displays, promises to be a highlight for both series fans and parade-goers.
