The movie stars Keanu Reeves as Shadow and tells the complicated story of how the character came to be, starting with Professor Gerald Robotnik (Jim Carrey). Carrey will play Gerald and the previously introduced Dr. Ivo Robotnik in a completely different way from the other actors. This choice needed a lot of makeup work.
I think the CG is even better. The voice of Sonic, Ben Schwartz, said, “Everything is pumped up for this one.” It’s a big movie, with “Avengers-level events,” and the producers have ensured that Shadow’s darker parts are balanced with a family-friendly tone.
The movie shows some interesting characters from the video game world, like the Chao creatures that live in a Tokyo restaurant with a Japanese theme that is an important part of the story. The main group is back, with Idris Elba as Knuckles, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, and James Marsden as Tom. Schwartz talked about how committed the series is to fan feedback. He used the design change in the first movie as an example of how responsive the team is.
