Justin Baldoni Issues Late-Night Apology to Blake Lively Amid Escalating Legal Battle

A six-minute voice message has surfaced in the ongoing legal dispute between film director Justin Baldoni and actress Blake Lively, revealing an emotional late-night apology and shedding new light on their conflict surrounding the movie “It Ends with Us.”

The recording, first reported by Daily Mail, captures Baldoni speaking candidly at 2 AM about their creative differences. “I am far from perfect,” Baldoni admits in the message. “I’m going to make mistakes, but I will always apologize and find my way back to center.”

The dispute began in December when Lively filed a sexual harassment and retaliation complaint against Baldoni, known for his role in the TV series “Jane the Virgin.” The situation quickly escalated into competing federal lawsuits, with Baldoni filing a $400 million defamation and extortion suit against Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds.

Central to the controversy are screenplay rewrites, particularly a disputed rooftop scene. Baldoni’s lawsuit includes text messages showing Lively’s dissatisfaction with his approach to her proposed script edits.

In the voice message, Baldoni emphasizes his preference for face-to-face communication. “I love being with people and being in somebody’s space,” he says, suggesting challenges in their working relationship’s communication style.

The legal proceedings will be overseen by Judge Lewis J. Liman. An initial hearing is scheduled for February 3, with a potential trial set to begin as early as March 2026.

As the Hollywood legal battle continues, both parties await the next developments in this complex and highly publicized dispute.
