The 2025 BAFTA Film Awards will feature special musical performances by Take That and Jeff Goldblum, organizers revealed Wednesday. The prestigious event is set to take place on February 16 at London’s Royal Festival Hall, promising a unique blend of cinema and music.
British pop band Take That will perform their hit “Greatest Day,” which is featured in Sean Baker’s Palme d’Or-winning film “Anora.” The movie has earned seven BAFTA nominations, including top categories for best film, director, and lead actress Mikey Madison.
Actor and jazz musician Jeff Goldblum will bring a musical tribute to the evening’s In Memoriam segment. Best known for his acting roles, including the current BAFTA-nominated film “Wicked,” Goldblum also leads the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. He is set to release a new jazz album, “Still Blooming,” on April 25.
This year’s BAFTA nominations showcase remarkable diversity across film genres. Nominations span horror films like “Heretic” and “The Substance,” musicals including “Wicked,” historical epics such as Steve McQueen’s “Blitz,” and blockbuster sequels “Dune: Part Two” and “Gladiator II.”
The Vatican drama “Conclave,” adapted from Robert Harris’s novel, leads with 12 nominations. It is closely followed by “Emilia Pérez” with 11 nominations and “The Brutalist” with nine.
