Joe Jonas set off a fresh round of speculation about a third Camp Rock film after appearing on the game show Hot Ones Versus and choosing to read the most recent entry in his phone’s notes rather than eat another ultra-spicy wing. Looking into the camera, he said “Read Camp Rock 3,” then added, “It’s the truth. It’s literally right here… sorry, Disney,” prompting surprised reactions from Nick and Kevin Jonas seated beside him. A clip of the moment was later posted on the show’s social channels, where it drew rapid traction.
Despite the viral exchange, there has been no formal announcement from the studio that controls the franchise. A person familiar with the matter indicated that nothing is official at the company, underscoring that Jonas’ on-air tease does not by itself confirm a greenlight. The two original Disney Channel movies premiered in 2008 and 2010 and helped launch the careers of their young ensemble, including Jonas and co-star Demi Lovato.
The timing of the reveal added fuel to reunion hopes. Two days earlier, Lovato made a surprise appearance at the Jonas Brothers’ 20th anniversary tour kickoff at MetLife Stadium, joining the band for Camp Rock staples “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” a moment captured in widely shared fan footage and local coverage from the show. In a follow-up interview, Lovato described the performance as “healing,” reflecting on the group’s shared history and the audience’s response.
The Hot Ones Versus episode itself framed the admission as part of a game mechanic: contestants could tell the truth or face another round of the “wings of death.” Jonas opted for disclosure, with his brothers acknowledging, “That’s a pretty good one,” before the segment moved on. No additional details about creative direction, casting, production timelines, or distribution were discussed during the taping, and representatives for the artists and the studio have not announced plans since the episode aired on August 12.
