Filming has wrapped on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with director Destin Daniel Cretton marking the milestone by publicly saluting star Tom Holland and the crew behind the fourth MCU Spider-Man feature. Cretton announced the wrap Friday on Instagram, posting behind-the-scenes photos from the final day and calling the project the “biggest” and “most rewarding” film he has worked on.
In his message, Cretton thanked the ensemble for “breathing so much life” into the characters and praised the crew for “creativity and craftsmanship.” He singled out Holland for “kind, generous leadership on and off screen,” along with a “relentless work ethic” and “fearless performances,” ending the post with: “That’s a wrap on ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day!’
The wrap moves the Sony-Marvel release into post-production ahead of its locked theatrical date of July 31, 2026, a timeline that puts editing, scoring and heavy visual-effects work on a tight runway. Marvel has already positioned the film as Holland’s next big-screen chapter after Spider-Man: No Way Home, and the studio continues to list Cretton as director.
Cast details remain closely guarded, yet several returning names are confirmed through studio and production reporting: Holland returns as Peter Parker, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon expected back, and Sadie Sink set for an undisclosed role. The production previously hit a short pause in September after Holland suffered a mild concussion, with the companies behind the film stopping work “out of an abundance of caution” before resuming later that month.
The creative pitch has stayed consistent since the title reveal at CinemaCon. On stage, Cretton said he and his team were “nerding out over the suit” while building an “emotional story,” framing the movie as a fresh swing for the character rather than a quick lap around familiar beats. With principal photography now complete, the next stretch will test how that ambition holds under the demands of a summer tentpole schedule.
