A Los Angeles jury convicted actor Nick Pasqual on all counts Friday, including attempted murder, for the May 2024 pre-dawn stabbing of his estranged girlfriend, Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn — an attack that left her fighting for her life in the ICU with more than 20 stab wounds and visible scars she carried to the witness stand two years later.
The jury convicted Pasqual, 36, on attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present, injuring a spouse or cohabitant, and one count of forcible rape tied to a separate incident a month before the stabbing. Jurors also found two special allegations true: that the attack inflicted great bodily injury under circumstances involving domestic violence, and that Pasqual used a deadly weapon. He had pleaded not guilty to all charges. Sentencing is set for June 2 in Los Angeles, where he faces a maximum of life in state prison.
The attack took place at approximately 4:30 in the morning on May 23, 2024. Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s home in Sunland, a neighborhood in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles, and attacked her while she was there. She had a restraining order against him at the time. Shehorn spent a week in intensive care and underwent several surgeries during her recovery. Friends launched a GoFundMe campaign for her medical bills; it noted she required breathing and feeding tubes. Her makeup credits include Rebel Moon: Part One and Babylon.
Shehorn took the stand last week, her scars still visible on her arm and neck. She detailed a violent fight with Pasqual leading up to their break-up. “I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open, and I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door,” she testified tearfully. Prosecutors painted a portrait of escalating domestic violence before the stabbing, describing a relationship that had grown dangerous well before May 2024.
After the attack, Pasqual fled California and was detained at a U.S.-Mexico border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. He was extradited to Los Angeles and charged by the county District Attorney’s office shortly after his arrest.
Pasqual appeared in a 2011 episode of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother and had a role in the Zack Snyder Netflix film Rebel Moon. The case reignited conversations in Hollywood about domestic violence, restraining order enforcement, and victim protection as Shehorn continues her recovery.
