The first Need for Speed Unbound reviews have already appeared online. While there are not many at this point, average ratings seem to indicate that we’re dealing with one of the best installments of the series.
As we find out from Metacritic, NFS Unbound’s ratings remain at 80 points out of 100, similar is the case with player reviews, the average of which consists of 79 points.
It means that the new installment of the popular series has definitely risen to the occasion. In comparison, NFS Heat, and therefore one of the better-rated parts of the series, can boast a score of 72 points.

“Need for Speed Unbound may have an uphill battle to be named the best racing game for Xbox consoles, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s definitely one of the best installments in the Need for Speed series,” reads a review by WindowsCentral.
“It’s a strong comeback for the Need for Speed brand, but I can’t help feeling that EA wasn’t brave enough to make even more of the game’s potential.” – wrote a reviewer for the GamesRadar+ website.
The reviewers seem to agree on the production’s strongest points, i. e. driving model, tuning system for vehicles and visuals. There is no shortage of criticism, though.
In the opinion of The Beta Network website, “Need for Speed Unbound is an average arcade experience at best. The game is primarily focused on street racing, and it’s hard to enjoy it when the controls don’t always do their job.”
“Need For Speed Unbound is a successful part of the iconic series – it could hardly be otherwise. The developers did not force themselves to completely change the face of the series, instead they took all the best from the previous installments and supplemented it with some of their own ideas.” – Maciek wrote in our review, awarding the game a high rating along with a silver recommendation.
