Disney has set the next Ice Age adventure for February 5, 2027 and revealed its title as Ice Age: Boiling Point, announcing the news during the Destination D23 showcase alongside the film’s first official logline. The studio describes a “dinosaur-and-lava-filled” journey that sends Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat and the rest of the herd into new corners of the Lost World, positioning the feature as the first theatrical Ice Age release since 2016’s Collision Course.
The date reflects a shift from an earlier winter 2026 slot and aligns the franchise with a quieter early-February corridor that has yielded strong family openings in recent years. The return of core voices Ray Romano, Queen Latifah and John Leguizamo has been reaffirmed since the project’s initial reveal last year, when the studio signaled that a sixth mainline installment was in production.
Boiling Point arrives under 20th Century Animation and 20th Century Studios following the 2021 shutdown of Blue Sky Studios, the original Ice Age producer. That makes this entry a test of how the brand plays theatrically in its new home after the Disney+ spinoff The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild in 2022 kept the characters visible on streaming.
Beyond the title and date, the official framing emphasizes scale and familiarity: the Lost World setting broadens the series’ dinosaur thread while promising the slapstick ensemble dynamic that has defined the films. The franchise’s commercial footprint remains considerable; across five theatrical entries, the series has generated multibillion-dollar revenues worldwide, giving the new installment a built-in awareness advantage as the studio calibrates a full marketing push closer to release.
Fans and trade watchers first caught the update via the studio’s event coverage and social posts from the Destination D23 presentation, which highlighted the February 2027 date and the Boiling Point branding. The reveal also came as the company detailed broader 2025–2027 plans across animation and live-action, signaling continued investment in legacy IP alongside newer titles.
