The Television Academy’s weekend presentations traditionally spotlight craft and guest categories ahead of the primetime telecast, and this year’s slate again featured a mix of first-time winners and decorated veterans. In drama guest actor, Hatosy prevailed over nominees from Andor, The Boys, The White Lotus, and The Last of Us; in drama guest actress, Wever’s field included performers from Severance, The Last of Us, and The Handmaid’s Tale.
The guest acting races arrived under updated eligibility rules adopted for 2025 that restrict performers from switching back into guest categories for the same role after being nominated or winning in lead or supporting for that series, a change designed to clarify category boundaries.
Elsewhere across the weekend, comedy guest honors went to Bryan Cranston for The Studio, part of a broader haul for that series, while The Penguin and Severance posted strong crafts totals.
