Ubisoft has set sail with a brand new gameplay reveal for the highly anticipated, yet recently delayed, Skull and Bones. Despite the developer’s tireless efforts to craft a swashbuckling adventure, it seems the gameplay has failed to leave a lasting impression on players.
During the presentation, we were given a glimpse into the nautical world of Skull and Bones, with a focus on the game’s ship control mechanics and sea combat.
We also got a taste of the game’s rich plot and backstory, but let us not forget, the story is just the cherry on top of this pirate-themed sundae.
Alas, it seems the gameplay has left players feeling less than impressed. The initial reactions have been less than favorable, with players criticizing the game’s overall appearance and making unfavourable comparisons to other pirate-themed games such as Sea of Thieves and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. But perhaps, it is not the treasure we were hoping for.

As the anticipation for the highly-anticipated game, Skull and Bones, continues to build, players have taken to the internet to express their excitement and show their support for the dedicated developers at Ubisoft.
However, amidst the excitement, there are also words of sympathy and understanding for the challenges the team has faced in bringing this game to life.
It’s no secret that Ubisoft has been going through a difficult time, facing financial challenges that have undoubtedly affected the morale of the team.
And with the recent postponement of the game’s premiere, it’s clear that the road to release has been anything but smooth sailing.
But through it all, the Singaporean development team has persevered, pushing through the endless problems and setbacks that have plagued the production of Skull and Bones.
And while the game has faced its fair share of delays, with the release date having been pushed back no less than six times, the passion and determination of the team behind it is undeniable.
