Breaking Bad has become one of the most iconic television series of all time, and much of that success can be attributed to Bryan Cranston’s incredible performance as Walter White. However, what many fans may not know is that Cranston’s wife, Robin Dearden, played a crucial role in his decision to accept the part.

In an interview with GQ, Cranston revealed that he always seeks his wife’s opinion on his potential roles, as he believes that their decisions will affect each other. So, when the script for the pilot episode of Breaking Bad arrived, Cranston handed it to Dearden to read, hoping for her approval.

As Dearden read through the script, Cranston occasionally peered over her shoulder to gauge her reaction. To his surprise, as she approached the end of the script, Dearden uttered just one word: “Shit.”

Cranston knew that this was Dearden’s way of expressing her approval, and he promptly accepted the role of Walter White. It’s hard to imagine anyone else bringing the character to life with the same level of intensity and depth that Cranston did.

Since Breaking Bad’s conclusion, Cranston has gone on to star in other successful films and series, but he will always be remembered for his role as Walter White.

In fact, he recently reprised the role in Better Call Saul and even filmed a Super Bowl commercial as Heisenberg, stating that it would be the last time he would wear the character’s signature hat and sunglasses.

Breaking Bad fans may also be interested to know that the iconic white underpants worn by Cranston in the show’s pilot episode will soon be up for auction. There are already reports of fans willing to pay a hefty price for a chance to own a piece of television history.

As for Breaking Bad’s creator, Vince Gilligan, he is currently working on his next series with Rhea Seehorn in the lead role. While it’s unlikely that any show will ever achieve the same level of success as Breaking Bad, fans can’t wait to see what Gilligan has in store for them next.
