The launch of Diablo 4 Season 2 has been eagerly awaited by the game’s dedicated community, but the new season is off to a rough start. Season 2 coincided with the Steam release of Diablo 4, introducing exciting content, but it has also brought about a host of issues, including the disabling of cross-play between PC and consoles and non-functional Season Objectives.
Season Objectives in Diablo 4 serve as a key component of the new seasonal content, offering players the opportunity to earn battle pass XP, Legendary Aspects, and other rewards. However, these objectives are currently plagued with issues, failing to properly track players’ progress.
Despite accomplishing tasks like collecting Reddamine and completing a Cellar, all objectives stubbornly remain at zero, leaving players unable to claim their hard-earned rewards.
At the time of writing, Blizzard has yet to acknowledge the problem on social media, and it remains uncertain whether players will receive retroactive rewards for their Season Objectives once the issue is resolved.
Thankfully, players can only potentially miss out on one objective, which is to “complete 3 priority or side quests.” However, achieving this goal before a fix is implemented seems improbable.
The battle pass, a major feature of Season 2, has also been marred by glitches. Players are encountering difficulties in claiming rewards from both the free and premium tiers.
Icy Veins, a gaming platform, reported that some players managed to utilize their free premium battle pass from the Deluxe version of the game for Season 2. This occurred even if they had previously applied it to the Season 1 battle pass, although, due to the ongoing issue, they cannot currently access any rewards.
While Season 2 of Diablo 4 introduced a substantial balance update with patch notes exceeding 14,000 words, the issues related to Season Objectives and the battle pass have taken the spotlight, leaving players frustrated and eager for prompt resolutions.
