In an exciting development for PlayStation 5 owners eagerly awaiting the release of Stellar Blade, Sony and developer Shift Up have confirmed that a playable demo for the upcoming action title will launch later this week, on Friday, March 29th. This early taste of the game will not only give players a chance to experience the opening hours of Stellar Blade but also allow them to carry their progress through to the full game when it launches on April 26th.

The demo, which was accidentally released and swiftly pulled from the PlayStation Store a few weeks ago, promises to deliver an immersive introduction to the game’s world and mechanics. Players will have the opportunity to explore the post-war human city of Eidos 7, now infested by the dangerous Naytiba, a monstrous force that has rendered Earth uninhabitable.

Taking control of the protagonist Eve, players will navigate through the tutorial phase, mastering her abilities and combat skills as they prepare for the challenges that lie ahead. The demo will serve as an excellent primer for the game’s fast-paced action and stylish combat, allowing players to unleash devastating Beta and Burst Skills against their enemies.

Shift Up’s game director, Hyung Tae Kim, has teased that those who complete the first stage of the demo can expect “a little surprise,” adding an extra layer of intrigue to this early glimpse into the world of Stellar Blade.

One of the most exciting aspects of this demo is the ability to carry over progress to the full game upon its release. This seamless transition not only saves players’ time but also ensures a consistent and immersive experience, allowing them to pick up right where they left off in the demo.

Stellar Blade, formerly known as Project Eve, has been generating significant buzz among PlayStation fans since its initial reveal in 2021. Set in a distant future where Earth has been overrun by the Naytiba, the game promises an epic story of redemption and reclamation, accompanied by stunning visuals and exhilarating combat.

With the demo’s release just around the corner, players can soon embark on their journey to save humanity, honing their skills and gaining a head start on the full Stellar Blade experience. Whether you’re a seasoned action game enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this demo presents an invaluable opportunity to immerse yourself in the game’s world and prepare for the battles that lie ahead.
