Fans of the beloved Nickelodeon animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender are in for a treat, as Epic Games has announced a major crossover event coming to Fortnite. Starting tomorrow, April 9th, players will be able to don the iconic looks of Katara, Toph, and Zuko, three of the show’s most beloved characters, as in-store skins.
The arrival of these new Avatar-themed skins will also kick off a larger in-game event called “Avatar: Elements,” which is poised to run for 2-3 weeks. Much like previous Fortnite crossover events, this limited-time experience is expected to include a mini-battle pass filled with Avatar-inspired rewards, including emotes, stickers, and potentially even an additional character skin, such as the protagonist Aang.
“Somewhere out there, a grown man is plotting an attack on the Fire Nation while he and his kids get a victory royale, and I think that’s beautiful,” said one Fortnite enthusiast, capturing the excitement surrounding this crossover for both longtime fans of the show and casual Fortnite players alike.

The introduction of these Avatar skins comes on the heels of last season’s addition of Korra, the protagonist of the sequel series The Legend of Korra. Sharp-eyed players have already noticed an icy tomb in the northeastern corner of the Fortnite map, hinting at the eventual arrival of Aang himself. The “Avatar: Elements” event will likely provide more details on how players can access the young Air Nomad Avatar.
In addition to the new character skins, the event is expected to bring Avatar-themed abilities and mechanics to Fortnite’s gameplay. Leaks suggest the introduction of elemental-based powers, such as waterbending, that players can wield against their opponents. This would mirror the inclusion of Korra’s waterbending abilities, which can currently be found as a Mythic item in the game.
