Fans of Netflix’s hit teen drama “My Life with the Walter Boys” have received exciting news as the show’s second season enters pre-production. Tawnya Benavides Bhattacharya, writer and co-executive producer, shared the update via social media, stating, “Fans of #mylifewiththewalterboys – we’re in pre-production! Just wanted to let you all know how excited everyone is to give you a S2!”
The series, based on Ali Novak’s popular 2014 novel, debuted on Netflix in December 2023 and quickly gained a strong following. It reached number 1 on Netflix’s Global English Top 10 TV list and landed in the Top 10 in 88 countries worldwide. The story follows Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a recently orphaned teen from Manhattan who moves to rural Colorado to live with her guardians, the Walter family.
Season 1 concluded with several dramatic turns, setting up significant storylines for the upcoming season. The finale saw Alex (Ashby Gentry) confessing his feelings to Jackie, only for her to share a kiss with Cole (Noah LaLonde) instead. The season ended with Jackie leaving for New York without informing anyone, leaving only a note behind.

While specific plot details for Season 2 remain under wraps, the show’s creator, Melanie Halsall, expressed her excitement about the renewal. “We have been overwhelmed by the love and support that the audience has given the show, and [we] can’t wait to dive back into the world of Silver Falls and the lives of these characters,” Halsall told Netflix’s Tudum.
The main cast, including Rodriguez, LaLonde, and Gentry, are expected to return, though full casting details have not been confirmed. In a January 2023 interview with Teen Vogue, Rodriguez hinted at Jackie’s future, saying, “Obviously, Jackie would have to come back to Colorado but what makes her come back? I don’t even know. I’ve thought about so many different options.”
Interestingly, a sequel to Novak’s original novel has been announced, which may influence the direction of the TV series’ second season. However, it’s worth noting that the show’s first season already diverged from the book’s ending in significant ways.
