The Last of Us: Part 2 was released almost three years ago and has become one of the most popular games of all time, drawing in new fans with its engaging storyline and innovative gameplay.

The game’s developers, Naughty Dog, announced a multiplayer mode for the game shortly after its release, but details about the mode have been scarce ever since. However, a new job posting from Sony has revealed some interesting information about the upcoming game modes.

The Last of Us: Part 2 Multiplayer Mode for PS4 and PS5

The multiplayer mode for The Last of Us: Part 2 has been in development for over two years, and fans have been eagerly anticipating its release. A new job posting for a multiplayer quality tester on the Naughty Dog website suggests that the game mode will be released for both the PS4 and PS5.

The job posting states that the tester should have work experience with PS4 and PS5 systems, indicating that the multiplayer game will be available for both consoles.

Multiplayer Mode for Last of Us: Part 2 Could Become Free-to-Play

Last year, Neil Druckman, co-president of Naughty Dog, announced that the multiplayer mode for The Last of Us: Part 2 had been in development for over two years and that fans could expect more information about the mode in 2023. There’s also speculation that the multiplayer mode could be free-to-play, which would allow even more players to experience the game.

Is a Release for the PS4 Worth It?

Given that the PS5 has been on the market for over two years, some have questioned whether a release for the PS4 is still worth it. Developing a multiplayer mode for two platforms simultaneously can be a challenge, especially with a larger project like The Last of Us: Part 2’s multiplayer.

However, given that The Last of Us: Part 2 was originally released for the PS4, it’s quite likely that the multiplayer mode will be available on both consoles. Additionally, releasing the multiplayer mode for the PS4 would give over 100 million potential players access to the game, making it an attractive option for Sony.

The Last of Us: Part 2 is a game that continues to captivate players with its thrilling storyline and immersive gameplay. With the announcement of the game’s multiplayer mode, fans are eagerly awaiting its release.

While the exact details of the multiplayer mode are still unknown, the fact that it will be available for both PS4 and PS5 is exciting news for players on both consoles.

Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or a newcomer to the world of The Last of Us, the game’s multiplayer mode is sure to be a thrilling experience that you won’t want to miss.
