The much-anticipated Season 3 of Netflix’s The Witcher is fast approaching, and today we received the premiere dates for both volumes of the season, as well as a glimpse of Henry Cavill’s final performance as the iconic Geralt of Rivia.
The Witcher Season 3 Premiere Dates and New Teaser Trailer
The freshly released teaser trailer reveals that the first volume of Season 3, comprising episodes 1 through 5, is set to premiere on June 29.
The second volume, containing episodes 6 through 8, will follow on July 27. The new teaser gives fans a sneak peek of what to expect, showcasing Cavill’s Geralt consuming a potion and seemingly gearing up for battle. We also catch glimpses of Yennefer (played by Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (portrayed by Freya Allen).
Season 3 will be the last time we see Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, with Liam Hemsworth set to take over the role beginning in Season 4. Although the teaser provides little detail, it appears to show the Wild Hunt pursuing Ciri at one point in the footage.
In season three, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding as monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent vie to capture her. Determined to protect his newly-reunited family from those seeking to destroy it, Geralt relies on Yennefer to lead Ciri’s magical training.
They travel to the secured fortress of Aretuza, where Yennefer hopes to uncover more about Ciri’s untapped powers. Instead, they find themselves in the midst of a battlefield riddled with political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. Facing these challenges, they must fight back, risking everything—or risk losing each other forever.
