Crytek, the German game development studio, has been relatively quiet in recent years. However, a recent tweet from the studio’s official Twitter account has sparked excitement among fans as it hints at a possible return to ancient Rome with Ryse: Son of Rome.

The tweet simply asks fans how they remember the journey of Marius Titus in Ryse: Son of Rome, leaving many speculating that the studio is working on a new project related to the game.

This speculation is further fueled by the fact that the game is set to celebrate its tenth anniversary this year.

Rumors of a new project set in the Roman Empire have been circulating for several years, but nothing has been confirmed by Crytek yet.

However, the unexpected question about Ryse: Son of Rome from the studio suggests that they might have something in the works, and fans may hear about new announcements this summer.

Crytek is currently working on Crysis 4, which was announced in January 2023. As for the new Ryse game, it remains only speculation at this point.

Nonetheless, given what happened with the Crysis series, it is possible that Crytek may release a remaster of the original game before launching a sequel.

For those who are unfamiliar, Ryse: Son of Rome is a third-person action game that follows the journey of Marius, a Roman centurion.

The game was released in 2013 on PC and Xbox One consoles and was praised for its impressive graphics, decent storyline, and immersive world. However, it was criticized for its overly simplistic gameplay and strange combat system.

Overall, Crytek’s recent tweet has stirred up excitement among fans, and many are hoping that they will hear more about a potential new Ryse game or remaster soon.

As fans eagerly await any new announcements, only time will tell if we will return to Rome with Crytek once again.
