As the release of Bethesda’s highly anticipated sci-fi epic, Starfield, draws nearer, fans are eager for any news or details about the game. However, a recent discovery by the Reddit community has sparked confusion and speculation.
Some users have reported seeing a sponsored ad on the British Google search engine claiming to offer access to a “StarField Open Beta.”
Upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that the ad is not associated with Bethesda or Starfield in any way. In fact, the ad’s poor spelling and lack of official branding suggest that it may be a phishing attempt or a scam. GameSpot’s editorial staff has also confirmed that there is no official announcement of an open beta for Starfield.
Despite this, some curious fans have clicked on the ad and were redirected to a page where they could download an executable file.
A small warning for fellow idiots.

The nature of the file is unknown, but it’s important to note that it’s not an official Starfield Open Beta or any other content related to the game.
It’s crucial to exercise caution and avoid falling for misleading ads or phishing attempts, especially when it comes to highly anticipated releases like Starfield. Bethesda has not announced an Open Beta for the game, and any claim to the contrary is false.
Instead, fans can look forward to the Starfield Direct on Sunday, June 11, where they can get an exclusive look at the game’s gameplay features. This event is the best place to stay updated on all official news and information about Starfield.
