PlayStation Plus subscribers, particularly those with Extra or Premium memberships, will need to act fast if they want to experience a selection of notable PS4 and PS5 games that will soon be removed from the service’s catalog. Based on newly updated expiration dates, Sony has revealed around 10 titles across both console platforms that will be taken off PS Plus by February 28, 2023.
Headlining this wave of departures are several acclaimed and fan favorite releases from the past couple years, including Tango Gameworks’ haunting PS5 exclusive Ghostwire: Tokyo and the return of Square Enix’s stylish RPG series in NEO: The World Ends With You for PS4. Also leaving the ranks are Annapurna Interactive’s cozy narrative adventure Haven, available on both PS4 and PS5, and the mind-bending space exploration of Outer Wilds from Mobius Digital, another highlight playable across both PlayStation platforms.
With PlayStation Plus overhauling its tiered membership structure not long ago, the service’s Premium and Extra levels now give subscribers access to a Netflix-style games catalog. However, just like any streaming service, titles cycle in and out monthly. This means fans have limited time left to experience these seven games before they disappear into the digital ether.
Given Ghostwire: Tokyo and NEO’s scope as bigger budget, single-player focused experiences, subscribers may want to make playing those a priority before the February 28 expiration date. On the other hand, more compact indie experiences like Tchia and Haven could potentially be completed in their entirety with some dedicated weekend sessions.
Whatever PS Plus members choose to prioritize, this marks a bittersweet end of an era as some of the service’s most acclaimed catalog additions to date prepare to leave the platform. While the loss of beloved games is always disappointing, it also makes their temporary availability all the more meaningful and incentivizes fans to savor these experiences while they can.
