Just days after writer/director Rian Johnson unveiled the title of his highly anticipated Knives Out 3 as Wake Up Dead Man, fans have taken to social media to share their own dream casting ideas for the murder mystery sequel. While the official @KnivesOut account playfully described many of the suggestions as “unhinged,” these imaginative fan castings are generating big buzz and capturing the fun, unexpected spirit of the franchise.
Among the most delightfully offbeat visions is the recurring plea to cast The Muppets alongside Daniel Craig’s detective Benoit Blanc. “Cast them in Knives Out 3,” one fan emphatically stated alongside photos of the beloved puppets. Another dreamed up an ensemble including Willem Dafoe, Regina Hall, Jack Black, and yes, Kermit and crew.

While many of these ideas are indeed delightfully unhinged, that sense of shocking delight is exactly what has made the Knives Out films such a runaway hit with audiences and critics alike. Johnson and his casting team have struck gold by assembling incredible ensembles blending major stars like Chris Evans and Kate Hudson with rising talents like Ana de Armas.
With an insane amount of buzz and fan investment already, Wake Up Dead Man is shaping up to be another true event film. Whether any of these specific dream cast visions make it in remains to be seen.
