After over 15 years since the last mainline entry, the Homeworld franchise is making its triumphant return with Homeworld 3. Developed by Blackbird Interactive, the new game continues the epic story of the Kushan legacy and their intergalactic journey.
For most players, Homeworld 3 will launch worldwide on Saturday, May 13th. The release times are staggered across regions:
- New York: 2:00 PM ET
- Los Angeles: 11:00 AM PT
- London: 7:00 PM BST
- Berlin: 8:00 PM CEST
- Tokyo: 3:00 AM JST (May 14th)
- Sydney: 4:00 AM AEST (May 14th)
However, those who purchased the Fleet Command Edition or higher will be able to dive in early, gaining access 72 hours before the wide release on May 10th. This premium version offers a head start for eager fans who have been anticipating this sequel for nearly two decades.
The May 13th launch is a simultaneous global release for the standard and deluxe editions on PC. Unfortunately, there is no option to preload the game files beforehand. According to preview builds, the install size is a relatively modest 28GB.
Homeworld 3 picks up after the events of Homeworld 2, with the Kushan people still searching for their ancestral Homeworld Hiigara. The campaign promises an epic narrative with impressive real-time strategy battles set in the far reaches of space.
In addition to the single-player story, Homeworld 3 will feature cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. Players can team up to conquer AI opponents or test their skills against others online.
After such a lengthy wait, fans of Homeworld’s iconic 3D real-time strategy gameplay can finally experience the next chapter in this beloved sci-fi saga beginning May 13th. Those with the premium Fleet Command Edition get to join the journey a few days early.
