Netflix will premiere a new series called “No Good Deed” on December 12th. The show looks at the competitive world of real estate in Los Angeles. Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano star as a couple selling their century-old home. They list the property in a desirable LA neighborhood. This starts a frenzied bidding war among potential buyers.
Each family thinks owning the home will solve their problems. However, the name “No Good Deed” hints the house may conceal sinister secrets. A teaser for the show reveals glimpses of strange events at the property. Characters see things through hidden openings and deal with a handgun and table saw. This raises questions about what really happened in the home.
The series was created by Liz Feldman, known for the drama “Dead to Me.” She got the idea while obsessively looking at homes on the website Zillow during the COVID-19 pandemic. Feldman serves as executive producer with producers Will Ferrell, Christie Smith and Jessica Elbaum.
Besides Kudrow and Romano, the show stars Linda Cardellini, O-T Fagbenle, Abbi Jacobson, Denis Leary, Teyonah Parris and Luke Wilson. Guest stars include comedians Matt Rogers and Kate Moennig as well as veteran actress Linda Lavin. The ensemble cast brings star power to the series.
Each episode runs about 30 minutes. Feldman directs two of the eight episodes, with Silver Tree directing the other six. Writers include Feldman and staffers Madie Dhaliwal, Cara DiPaolo, Crystal Jenkins, Kelly Hutchinson, Bruce Eric Kaplan and Zora Bikangaga.
With its tale of real estate drama and dark humor, “No Good Deed” looks to captivate viewers when it premieres in December. The talented cast and creative team make it a promising addition to Netflix’s original programming.
