“Saali Mohabbat,” a suspenseful drama, will be Manish Malhotra’s first movie as a director. It will be shown for the first time at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on November 22.
The movie is a big step forward for Malhotra’s creativity and shows that he has grown beyond the fashion world. It’s also actress Tisca Chopra’s first time directing, and Radhika Apte, Divyenndu, and Anshumaan Pushkar are among the well-known actors in the group.
At the heart of the movie is an interesting story about a woman who gets caught up in a web of cheating, lying, and murder. Malhotra was excited about the project and said, “As soon as I read the script of ‘Saali Mohabbat,’ I was drawn to its intense and thrilling story.”
The movie, made by Malhotra’s Stage5 Production and Jio Studios, is meant to be an exciting theatrical experience. Jyoti Deshpande, the head of media and content business at Reliance Industries, praised Malhotra’s artistic growth, saying that he is now “crafting stories that captivate just as his designs have.”
Chopra sees this project as a turning point in her career. “I’m incredibly grateful to Manish Malhotra and Jio Studios for trusting in my vision and supporting my journey as a director,” she told us.
The movie is sure to get a lot of attention at IFFI, and a red carpet event with famous people is planned. The event will take place from November 20–28, and from November 20–24, the South Asian film market Film Bazaar will take place.
With this debut, Malhotra shows he can bring his creative vision from fashion design to film production, offering moviegoers a new and intense experience.
