Millie Bobby Brown has addressed speculation about a rift with her Stranger Things co-star David Harbour, saying the pair remain closely connected despite a recent report that she filed a bullying and harassment complaint against him during production of the show’s final season. In a new interview, originally published by The Hollywood Reporter and echoed in other outlets, Brown said she and Harbour chose to appear together at the season five premiere because “we love this show with everything” and “value our friendship more than anything.”
The renewed scrutiny followed a tabloid story earlier this month alleging that Brown submitted “pages and pages” of concerns to Netflix before filming began, prompting a months-long internal investigation. The report said there was no allegation of sexual misconduct but claimed Brown was later accompanied on set by a personal representative. Netflix declined to comment, and neither actor addressed the claims at the time, leaving social media to fill the gap with speculation.
Fans then revisited a 2024 interview in which Brown appeared visibly hesitant when asked if Harbour would officiate her wedding, answering, “Yes… I don’t know how I feel,” before suggesting another co-star instead. The clip went viral once the complaint story surfaced and was widely read as a sign of strain, even though it predated the latest allegations.
At the Stranger Things season five premiere in Hollywood on November 6, Brown and Harbour posed together on the red carpet, laughing and embracing in front of photographers. Brown has since described that appearance as an extension of a decade-long partnership playing Eleven and Hopper, whose adoptive father–daughter bond sits at the emotional centre of the series. The show’s creators have been cautious when asked about the off-screen reports, stressing in separate comments that the cast feels “like family” and that maintaining a safe, supportive set is their priority, while declining to discuss specific allegations.
Brown has often spoken about how growing up on the series was intertwined with her connection to Harbour, saying their real-life dynamic shaped how their characters evolved. Harbour, for his part, has repeatedly described feeling “protective” and “fatherly” toward his younger co-star, recalling that he met her before global fame and worried about how attention might affect her. Those earlier remarks have resurfaced alongside the recent controversy, framing Brown’s latest insistence that the two remain “united” as the final season rolls out on Netflix.
