Gael Cameron, the former “Below Deck Mediterranean” cast member, has broken months of public silence about the season that preceded a domestic violence case against her ex-partner and co-star Nathan Gallagher.

In an Instagram post Friday, Cameron reflected on filming Season 11 in Croatia while caring for her infant son, Kayden. She did not mention Gallagher or his case directly. She did acknowledge that viewers saw only part of what she endured, and described the stretch as “survival mode,” according to coverage of the post.

The season showed Cameron, who was not an official crew member, tending to Kayden near the superyacht where Gallagher worked 18-hour days. The couple met on Season 9, filmed in summer 2023, and had Kayden in June 2025. They split after a December 2025 incident in Sydney.

Police arrested Gallagher, an Irish native, on Dec. 27 over an alleged assault the previous day on a 29-year-old woman at an apartment complex. They charged him with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent and common assault. The woman was not publicly identified. Court records showed Gallagher was named in an apprehended violence application filed on Cameron’s behalf.

The case has moved on. Gallagher missed a court date, which prompted an arrest warrant. Parade reported he was convicted in September of three offenses linked to the incident. Bravo has since cut ties with him. Gallagher spoke to Rolling Stone about the matter, while Cameron stayed quiet until this week.

Her post drew an outpouring of support from castmates and fans. It follows a September message in which she said she had “lost myself” and her sparkle during the relationship, and that she did not think she had handled it well.

Cameron has not announced a return to the franchise. She has made appearances this season, alongside her son.
